In 23 seasons from 1979-2002, Raines had, 2,605 hits, 1,571 runs, 430 DB&#8217;s, 113 3B&#8217;s (wow), 170 HR, 980 RBI&#8217;s, 808 SB (wow), 1,330 BB, and .294 BA (wow).   Also played on 2 championship yankee teams, 96 and 98.  7 time all star, 1 batting title.<br />

He was one heck of a ball player.  He played in a total of 15 seasons between 1956-1971, but he played the lionshare of his career in 12 seasons from 1958-1969 with the St. Louis Cardinals.  Flood had 1,861 hits, and batted .293.  I know that a lot more players are more deserving to get into the Hall on the Vet Committe votes, like Ron Santo, Bert Blyleven, Tommy John, Jim Kaat, etc, but Flood deserves another look, don&#8217;t you agree?http://www.baseball-reference.com/f/floo&#8230;</p>
