I’m so disappointed in myself. I haven’t been in total control of my diabetes and have been eating pretty crappy lately. Well, I just weighed myself and haven’t in about a little over a month and just found out a gained close to 10 pounds, when I already had 25 to lose!!! I’m almost in tears at the thought of weighing what I do right now forever. Is it possible to just eat healthy and excersize and lose weight like a normal person even though I have diabetes type 1?

I have had Type 1 for 10 years and have gained 60 lbs since starting insulin therapy in 2000! My nutritionist gave me little insight by telling me that insulin makes you gain weight, I need to take less. But how, and still get the nutrition I need?

I’ve had type 1 diabetes since last October and since then i’ve gained 3stone (due to the artificial insulin) i’m also on the contraception injection, and i’m finding it so hard to lose weight!
Please help! I eat healthily as I always have. (Type 1 diabetes is something you cant prevent unlike type 2 which is caused by being unhealthy/elderly)

I have had Type 1 diabetes since April, and, prior to my diagnosis, I weight 10st. Now I weight 10st 10lbs, and I would really like to lose some weight. I already go to the gym and exercise, but I’m really finding that insulin makes me put on weight. Has anyone got any tips on how to lose weight?
N.B-I’m a vegetarian, and I obviously can’t cut out carbohydrates.

Im 14 and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in October after the trauma of a major operation. I can’t do much exercise at the moment because of the operation BUT I feel like I’m getting fat because I have to eat more for the diabetes. Know any good exercises to do to lose weight AND control my diabetes without straining my back? Complicated I know, any answers will be gratefully received thanks =]
