I see diabetes listed as a risk factor for heart diseases and I wonder how bad it really is to have diabetes. Is it as bad as smoking? I suppose it depends on how well diabetes is controlled but I just want to get an idea of what damage high blood sugar does to you body.

It seems to be only on the days when she was high or low. I know this is a side effect but I need to understand more. Since she isn’t able to convey her emotions through words yet please let me know what it feels like, from your experience. And what helps/doesn’t help, makes it worse/better, any advice from another type 1 diabetic would be helpful.
