  1. JL Hood says:

Add me to this list. (And I’m not and never have been a Cubs fan. I grew up as a Reds fan.)

  2. Kenneth Bredwell says:

I vote Ron Santo for HOF, he deserves it, and I just cannot understand why he is not in yet.. He is before my time ( was born in 1973) but his stats are comparable to HOFers like Ryne Sandberg etc… LET HIM IN!!!!

  3. Bev Lloyd says:

Ron Santo deserves to be in the hall of fame. I was a kid watching him play and enjoy listening to him on the radio calling the games. Ron really hurts with all Cubs fans when the Cubs don’t win. He is as loyal as they come.

    Vote him in.

  4. grama brady says:

RON SANTO SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME……….. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST.. LOOK AT HIS STATS.

  5. kelley says:

    SANTO IS A STUD.
must be in hall of fame!

  6. jmwcubfan says:

I’m 58, and have been a Cubs fan since 1960 when our family lived in Chicago. I’ve seen Santo and Sandberg in their prime. If Ryno can get elected to the HOF on the first ballot, Santo has to be a HOF’er. IMO, Santo was the better player of the two.

  7. Judi Sparks says:

Of all the players I’ve seen at the hot corner he was the best. That he’s not in the Hall is a shame.

  8. Don Young says:

Please put him the hall with a tear drop instead of an asterisk behind his name. He doesn’t belong in the all but I’m tired of all his crying. What a self promoting baby he is!!

  9. DaleS says:

Don Young, you’re a fucking dumbass. Any chance you’re the Don Young that played for the Cubs in the 60′s? The guy that couldn’t catch a fly ball? The guy that was an insult to all of baseball? If not, you gotta be related.

  10. Put Ronny in the Hall of Fame!!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! Put Ronny in the Hall of fame!!! 11. sandy says:

put RON SANTO in the hall of fame. he deserves it more than a lot of those chosen over the past few years

  12. Jim Bearley says:

I’ve been a Cubs fan since 1969 at least that is as far back as I remember.Come on Veterans Committee Ron Santo should have been in the hall the first time he was on the ballot so fix this misjustice now and vote him in.

  13. Chip Ramsey says:

I am a life long, die hard White Sox fan, so that should give you some indication how strongly I feel about wanting Ron Santo in the hall of fame.

The first MLB game I ever attended was in August of 1968 when I was seven. In that game at Wrigley Field, Ron Santo hit two home runs and drove in four runs. The thing I always appreciated about him was that he could also play spectacular defense. He was my favorite baseball player as a kid and I wore number 10 in Little League in his honor.

To top it all off, he secretly fought diabetes at a time where that was taboo in professional sports.

Please put Ron Santo in the hall of fame, an honor he has richly earned and deserves.

  14. Marty Nelson III says:

I grew up in Wrigley field watching the Cubs from 1967-1972, Ron Santo was one of the best, the HOF committee should be ashamed of them selves not only did he accomplish being one of the NL elite, he did this with diabetes, that is a great accomplishment, in 1970 I got to meet him personally through my grandfather, to this day he was not only very nice man, he signed my glove without me asking him to, no one person loves the game of baseball more then Ron Santo, to me NO ONE deserves it more then Santo. Put him in the Hall OF Fame he deserves it, his numbers prove it!

  15. John Lingle says:

There is no one more deserving than Ron Santo to be in the HOF. His stats alone are enought for entry, but how he lives and dies everyday with the Cubs, how he is so much a part of baseball and Wrigley Field puts him over the top in my opinion. Wake up and listen Veteran Committee – Ron Santo, Hall of Fame.

  16. Jennie from the block says:

    Ron needs to be inducted!!!

  17. walt pasternak says:

Great man, great player, great passion. These qualities are not often seen in athletes of our time.Shame on cooperstown for not recognizing Ron Santo and his Hall of Fame career.

  18. Tim says:

The Cubs have had many losses in my lifetime, but none greater than the loss of Ron Santo today. It’s a shame he was not voted in before he died, but certainly now his accomplishments need to be recognized.

  19. Brenda Rigdon says:

Ron Santo earned a place in the Hall of Fame. He played with grace and class, and excelled in spite of dealing with diabetes in an era when diabetes was not easily controlled. He was a role model, an ambasador for the game and for the Cubs. He deserves a place in Cooperstown.

  20. Heather Pickens says:

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!!!!!! WHY COULDN’T YOU HAVE INDUCTED HIM INTO THE HALL OF FAME WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. HE WAS AN AWESOME BASEBALL PLAYER!!! HIS HEART AND SOUL WAS ALL ABOUT BASEBALL. YOU CAN’T SAY THAT ABOUT A LOT OF PLAYERS TODAY. TODAY IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY AND FAME! SHAME ON YOU VETERAN COMMITTE!!!

  21. Brad Regillio says:

Ron Santo should have been inducted into the Hall when he was alive. Many players are in with less achievements than what Ron has accomplished. Not only should the Hall Fame be ashamed it should be boycotted permanently. I for one will never visit or take part in the Hall of Shame.

  22. Steve Symmonds says:

My idol and hero as a child. Unbelievable he never was put in the HOF. OK Cooperstown, you’ve done your disservice to the 69 Cubs, now will you put the man where he belongs? God’s speed Ronnie…. you were the greatest..

  23. Shawn Hauck says:

Ronnie wasn’t just a great baseball player, he was great, great man. The writers who get a vote and the veterans commitee screwed up royaly. They all need to be tested for drugs. My spring and summer listening to the ‘ol coach will definetly be different. I’m just glad I got to take my 3 yr old son to his first game this yr and had the oppurtunity to hear Ron sing Take Me Out To The Ball Game. Our prayers go out to his family. He will be missed.
By the way, I’ve got fax here Pat!

  24. Curt M.Joseph says:

If you compare Ron Santo’s stats to all the third basemen in the Hall of Fame, you will see that Santo belongs. To not have Ron Santo with his achievements, four time Gold Glover, and nine time All-star, is a crime and the baseball writers and those involved in the process ought to be ashamed of themselves. You denied a worthy person his rightful place in the HOF while he was alive, now do the right thing and put him in the HOF in death. To those that do the balloting, DO YOU NOT RECOGNIZE TALENT AND DO YOU HAVE NO DECENCY?

  25. Curt M.Joseph says:

if you are the Don Young who played for the Cubs and made that costly error, GROW UP. You take a cheap shot like that when a man is near death. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Shame on you. Im sure you parents and your children are very proud of you for the posting that is on this stie. At least sir, Santo had a career in baseball, not the lack of a career that a “ham and egger” like you had. Now, Mr. Young, have a nice day.

  26. Lisa Bravender says:

Induct Ron Santo into the Hall Of Fame!!!!! He was one of the greatest players of all time. He will be sorely missed by many. His spirit lives on at Wrigley Field!!! God Bless you, Ron!!!

  27. Steve Butler says:

Inducting Ron Santo to the Hall should have been, and still is, a no brainer.

  28. Bob Franko says:

Consider me “signed” to this petition. Put Ron In.

  29. mike siroin says:

Ron was the best. He lived and breathed the Cubbies.

  30. Ronnie has earned and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, his stats say it all. You will be sorely missed and are truly loved.

  31. Les Symmonds says:

Induct RON SANTO into the hall of fame there is no one that deserves it more

  32. i am a life long chicago cubs fan some of my earliest memory’s were watching that great cubs team of 69 with banks, williams, beckert ron santo to me was what every major leaguer should strive to be like next to banks he is the cubs and to not include him in baseball’s ultimate shrine is borderline criminal!!! we will miss you ron go cubs!!

  33. Kerry Varner says:

It is very sad that this man couldn’t live to see his name being put into the hall of fame. I really wish that his name can be added with the other baseball greats, for his ability as a great 3rd baseman not for the fact that he just passed away. He should also be added for making the Cubs games so fun to listen to as well, his passion for the Cubbies was heartfelt and contagious. I was brought up in a Cardinal household, married a Cub fan, gave birth to a Cub fan and became one myself. Ron Santo was a huge part of that. Rest in peace, Ron.

  34. bob brun says:

Ronnie deserves to be in the hall of fame. Add my name to the petition. he will be sorely missed by all the fans . He definitely bled Cubbie blue if anyone did. I’ll miss you Ronnie.

  35. bob brun says:

I’ll mkiss Ron. He was a nice guy and will be sorely missed. He deserves to be in the hall of fame. Add my name to the petition . I’ll miss him. He was a herom to a lot of Cub fans and most definately bled Cubbie Blue.

  36. Charlene says:

Ron Santo is one of my inspirations as a person. He never complained about his disease and he was always there with a smile on his face to go out of his way to please all of his fans. He will be sorely missed, as I am a diehard Cubs fan, born and raised. I may only be 23 years old, but listening to Ron on the radio brought joy to my life. Please add my name to the petition as well. He truly belongs in the hall of fame. It’s just a shame he wasn’t put in there sooner. He was a great person and player, and will be sorely missed.

  37. dave burke says:

Ron played the game the way it was meant to be played, all out. Ron was a gamer who loved the game and the Chicago Cubs. The Hall of Fame is a farce until Ron Santo is enshrined with all the other greats of baseball. Ronnie’s well known enthusiasm, both on the field and in the booth, is known to all who watched him play and listened to him on WGN radio. Ronnie will be dearly missed. RIP

  38. veronica davies says:

Mr. Santo should have been in a long time ago ~ when he could have been with us to enjoy the tribute. Please vote for this beloved player and announcer whose heart was truly with the Game of Baseball.

  39. Lisa Michnick says:

God bless Ronnie. It’s a travesty he was not inducted in his lifetime. Justice MUST prevail! Ron Santo should be in the Hall of Fame!

  40. Tim Healey says:

The ’69 Cubs are one of my favorite Cubs team. The Cubs had pitching and a great infield.

  41. dawneubanks2005 says:

I agree to place him in the Hall of Fame. Sad to know that if we are successful he will not be present for this award that he should have gotten long ago.

  42. ag714@hotmail.com says:

I’m a Mets fan….BUT RON SANTO was GREAT !!!! and should be in the HoF.

  43. Kathy Kup says:

Everytime Ron Santo did not get into the Hall of Fame I had a sad feeling in the back of my mind that he would die before they inducted him. I was sad to hear yesterday that I was right. Baseball is a t eam sport and saying that since he never won a championship he does not deserve to be in the HOF is ridiculous. He had the stats, please put him in!

  44. Mike Bivins says:

Ron Santo should have been in the HOF long ago, it’s a joke that he isn’t. I support this petition 100%

  45. David J. Williamson says:

To a great extent it is too late. However, for the integrity of baseball please put him anyhow. Those who did not vote for him when he was alive should feel ashamed. Let’s not make two mistakes! Get him in!!

  46. crispin kellog says:

Ron should have entered the Hall of Fame 25 years ago. He certainly belongs with
all of the modern day inductees including Georg Brett, Mike Schmidt, Eddie Matthews,
    Brooks Robinson and Wade Boggs.

Some of the HOF veterans committee members need to quit acting like children because
they did not like the fact that Ron clicked his heels after a Cubs win in 1969 or
he made have angered them with a comment made 40 years ago. Get over
yourselves and make an objective decision regarding Ron Santo’s induction.

His courage and performance on the field as a player speaks for itself, let alone
what he did for the game of baseball after his playing days.

Now, if he is elected, it will be posthumous, but at least he will have finally made it.
Regardless if he makes it or not, he did enter the most important Hall of Fame on
on December 2, 2010, the AFTERLIFE HALL OF FAME.

  47. Pat Urbut says:

Posthumous induction is to late for Ron to have enjoyed it life but regardless he still should be inducted. He was one of the great third baseman of his time or any time. A White Sox fan who never hated the Cubs or their rare great players like Ron Santo. Pat

  48. Pat Urbut says:

Posthumous induction is too late for Ron to have enjoyed it in life but regardless he still should be inducted. He was one of the great third baseman of his time or any time. A White Sox fan who never hated the Cubs or their rare great players like Ron Santo. Worked at Wrigley Field his first 5 years and saw him many times thereafter on WGN. Pat

  49. Kevin McQ says:

Rest in peace, Ron. And thank you for your years of enthusiastic support for the greatest sport, and for your years of voluntary leadership in the quest for a cure of diabetes.

  50. Scott McAllister says:

Vote Ron Santo in. Stats alone he was one of the best 3rd basemen of his playing era. He was, is, and will always be a CUB. He bleed Cubs blue as a player and later as a broadcaster. Vote him into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and give him the recognition he has justly deserved.
