In 2005 a group of us took a Jay Buckley bus tour to see Ryne Sandberg inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame. While on this bus tour I had a chance to get "introduced" to Ron Santo the baseball player through the eyes of 20 or so individuals who grew up watching him on television. I have grown up with Ron Santo the color-guy on WGN and saw Ron in film.
After talking with people on the bus and others at the Hall of Fame it became very apparent to me that Ron Santo belongs in the MLB Hall of Fame. After looking at his career numbers compared to those of his era it became increasingly clear that Ron Santo belongs in the MLB Hall of Fame. As a result I've started a web petition in the hopes that players who are on the fense about voting for Ron would see the Ron Santo the baseball player, the broadcaster and the man all as someone special who deserves to be enshirned in Cooperstown.
As a sidebar, I have no affiliation with Ron Santo or the Chicago Cubs. I am merely a fan of both!
