I have been a Type 1 diebetic for 11 years. My husband and I have just started ttc. I was wondering how long it took other diabetic women to conceive and if they had miscarriages, how many? How well was your blood glucose contorlled before and during pregnancy?

Women With Type 1 Diabetes, How Long Did It Take You To Conceive?
By 2 Comments
Well it really depends because everyone is different. My friend who has diabetes it toke her about 3 months to conceive and she did not have any micarriages before that. Talk to your doctor he will be able to tell you about controlling your blood glucose. Good luck!
I’m not, but my favorite aunt has type 1. She and my uncle conceived within just 3 months of her stopping birth control, and that first pregnancy was kinda tough, due to her weight gain, and had a hard delivery (baby cousin was 9.5 lbs), but she did deliver vaginally. I know she had to test much more frequently while she was pregnant, and just be always watchful with food and insulin. It was much harder for her to control her blood sugar when she was pregnant. She never miscarried, but her second pregnancy nearly killed her, and she had her tubes tied after that, but both of those kids are fine, and she’s a very well controlled diabetic still – my cousins are both in college now.
