Is Jim Edmonds A Hall Of Famer?

If edmonds plays next season and reaches 400 homers, then he would become the 5th outfielder in the history to 400 homers and 8 gold gloves, joining ken griffey jr., barry bonds, willie mays, and somebody else that i can't recall as of this moment. Would that be enough to get him into the hall of fame? In my opinion, I think he will fall into the ron santo category, like never putting up utterly dominant numbers, but always great in the field and solid with the bat. Which means i think he will fall a little short each and every year of hall of fame candidacy.

if he plays a few more seasons with decent teams then he is a sure fire hall of famer, but…. he wont get in on his first try. he would probably be around a 3rd ballot. but he may get in one day.

I would have to say no. The 3 others that you named all have well over 500 HR’s each and are a lock for the H.O.F. I think you would have to compare Edmonds to Dwight Evans who also had 8 Gold, 385 HR’s, almost 2500 hits and 3 time All-Star, yet did not get into the Hall.

I’m not stretching that far to declare Jim Edmonds as a Hall of Famer. Great baseball player, Yes, Good career, Yes, not sure Hall of Fame

I think he’s just short, but he’s a great player. It was awesome to see him play in St. Louis for 8 years.
