What other baseball players that have thier time on the ballots of the Baseball Writers Association of America expired, and now can only get through the Veterans Committee that seems to be more then voting to keep these players out of the Hall of Fame, rather then in the Hall of Fame, so there is no need to be have repeated replies with Ron Santo’s name in them, I am looking other players that have to go through the Veterans Committee.

Besides Ron Santo?

Chipmaker always has well-thoughtout answers, but if Dick Allen is a Hall of Famer, so am I. The man was absolute poison on every team for which he played. He could hit the ball, no doubt. But he could also divide a team with the skill of a top-flight surgeon. To put a player with marginal HOF credentials who was such a negative force on his teams into the Hall of Fame would be a huge mistake. At least that’s my opinion.
BTW, Joe Gordon is an excellent choice and, I guess, answers the original question. lol
Gil Hodges. Minnie Minoso. Marty Marion.
I reviewed the entire VC players ballot from February 2007 at the time, and offered my metaphorical vote and support for five players. Besides Santo, I named:
Dick Allen, Joe Gordon, Minnie Minoso, and Ken Boyer.
And I’d support them pretty much in that order.
My gosh, Allen could HIT.
