Ron Santo is a good choice for the Hall of Fame but the late Gil Hodges should have been elected 15 years ago! Others that belong in the Hall of Fame are:

1. Cecil Travis
2. Lefty O'Doul
3. Stan Hack
4. Goose Gossage

Who else agrees with me?

At his time, he was as great as any player at his position as any other. Always a class act, as well. Don't that make him a Hall of Famer.
I wonder if some of these reporters, are to young to remember how great he was. If they just look at his statistics, compared to all the players today, in the juiced era. It would be hard to compare. But, let them look at what he did compared to any 3rd baseman in history. Even without the fact that he did all this with Diabetes. He truely is a Hall Of Famer in my book, and I never got to see him play, because I was born in 1966. I think it would be a tragedy for him to get voted in after he dies. This man has gave everything he has inside him his whole life to MLB. Give him his due! From an average Joe.

I've created a couple of t-shirts to honor/promote Ronnie to be in the hall of fame. I'm wearing one of them to the Cubs game on Friday, I'll be in the 2nd row, to the left of the Cubs dugout if you're looking from the field. Hopefully you'll see me and my shirt! If you want to buy one, or check it out, here is the link! (MAKE sure you type the * at the end, that's not a typo)

The committee is meeting again in March, look for another major change in the way the vote is done, with consideration probably given again next year instead of two years. Scott send me an email, great job so far, now its time to find a way to step this up a notch. The line that the committee's view upheld that of the writers was a slap in the face. Veterans had always been voted in prior to this every two year fiasco. Current committee members if any of you read this and I bet a couple will, today was an embarassment for you and your committee. If you voted for Ron, then you should question the judgement of your fellow committee members on why they decline to support a man whose game rivaled that of Robinson. Any that read this and didn't vote for Ron, stand strong, reveal yourself and tell us how you can with good conscience vote for another individual over Santo. Way to go Ron you played the damn game the way it was meant to be played and excelled. The vote doesn't matter, you have long been a Hall of Famer in the hearts of many....way to pick it!!

Good grief, give it a rest. It didn't take 30 years to decide if real HOF'ers like Ripken, Aaron, Bench, Mays, etc. deserved to be in. If he had the credentials, he would've gotten in within the first 15 years, period.
Didn't Santo tell the crowd at Wrigley the day they retired #10 that this was his hall of fame? How much more whining and lobbying do we have to endure from this man? The real injustice is that he's allowed to stink up the Chicago air waves with his incoherent, mumbling, stumbling half-sentences and incomplete thoughts. This man has milked more money from less talent as a broadcaster than anyone else alive. Whatever he's lost out on by not being in the HOF he's more than made up for by playing off of people's sympathy for more years than I can count. It's time to move on, people. A real hall of famer doesn't have to rely on the veteran's committee to get in.

Wow, not again!!! Ron Santo is not only a humble, wonderful man, he was one of the most talented players in history and this is a blatant case of ignorance. Please don't let this man pass away before his induction--if you have ever watched his documentary, This Old Cub, you can see the sadness on his face when he is not voted in. Take the pain away for goodness sake's and give the man what he deserves!

I'll bet if "who voted for who" was made public, Santo would be in the Hall...I wanna know who is on this committee...They are letting Bonds chase Aaron but won't let santo in the Hall...I know they are different peeps who are in charge of each of those decisions but it is still Baseball...I'm disgusted...I haven't been to a game since the strike in the mid 90's...I went to 30 games a year (it is a 5 hour round trip for me to the closest Major league Ball Park)...I'm done...Publish the list of these cowards...I'm not watching a game (TV or otherwise) until Santo is in...And if Ronnie passes away before that happens, I will never ever watch or go to a game ever again...This hurts and you cowards ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
